Hemorrhagic pancreatitis

Presentation

Acute gallstone pancreatitis.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Unenhanced MRI of abdomen demonstrates high T1/ low T2 signal in the body of pancreas, as well as within a large peripancreatic collection. 

T1FS demonstrates markedly high signal in body/tail of pancreas from hemorrhage, with decreased signal in remaining head and distal tail. 

T2FS demonstrates edema in head and tail of pancreas as well as retroperitoneum, with decreased T2 signal corresponding to the hemorrhagic area. 

Ax and Cor T2 demonstrates edema in head and tail of pancreas as well as retroperitoneum, with decreased T2 signal corresponding to the hemorrhagic area. Large collection displaces stomach anteriorly.
