Presentation

Dystonia and speech disturbance.

Patient Data

Gender: Female

Bilaterally symmetrical, hyperintense signal changes in the anterior medial globus pallidus, with surrounding hypointensity in the globus pallidus, on T2-weighted scanning. 

Case Discussion

Imaging features are fairly diagnostic of pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration with the specific MRI appearance of eye of the tiger sign.
