Presentation
High myopia and blurred vision and esodeviation of both eyes.
Patient Data
Both eyes have esodeviation, egg-shaped and thin posterior uveo-scleral layer, and bulged vitreous within this layer. On coronal view superotemporal bulge of the eye globes' thinned uveo-scleral layer within the space interposed superior rectus muscle and lateral rectus muscle (lateral rectus-superior rectus band) is seen. Note the low width of the optic nerves.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates the bilateral ocular chorioretinal coloboma, bilateral eyes esodeviation, and superotemporal bulge of the eyes' thinned uveo-scleral layer within the lateral rectus-superior rectus band which are the main imaging findings of heavy eye syndrome (HES). These patients have also high myopia on refraction examination.
