Presentation

Known case of hemophilia A, presented with left knee swelling and pain.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male
mri

There is significant knee joint effusion, distending the suprapatellar bursa, appears heterogeneously hyperintense in PD sequences with septa.

Diffuse synovial thickening and enhancement on T1 post-contrast images, with hypointensity/siderosis on T2_fl2d sequences.

Cartilage loss and erosions in both articular surfaces, and in patella posteriorly.

Case Discussion

Significant synovial collection involving knee joint and suprapatellar bursa, synovial thickening and enhancement, with hypointense signal/siderosis, and erosive changes likely suggestive of sequela of hemarthrosis and hemophilic arthropathy.
