Hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombosis

Presentation

Patient with cirrhosis due to hepatitis B.

Patient Data

Age: 70-75Y
Gender: Male

There is a 71 mm mass in this cirrhotic liver with mosaic enhancement on early phases and rapid washout on delayed phase, compatible with hepatocellular carcinoma.

There is also enhancing thrombosis in the main and right branches of the portal vein and also a part of left branch of portal vein. Free fluid is seen in peritoneal cavity.

Case Discussion

The findings are consistent of hepatocellular carcinoma with tumor thrombosis in a patient with cirrhosis.
