15 year-old girl with fever and right upper quadrant pain

Age: 15
Gender: Female

Large low echogenicity lesion in the right lobe of liver, with minimal liquid component and multiple small well defined low echogenicity lesions in the spleen.

Multiple lesions in both the liver and spleen, those in the liver having multiple septae and a honeycomb appearance, in keeping with multifocal abscesses.

Case Discussion

The appearances are typical of hepatosplenic melioidosis.
