Patient Data
ETT tip lies at the level of T2. Nasogastric tube passes below the left hemidiaphragm with the tip projecting over the gastric bubble. UVC tip lies a the level of T10/11. The UAC tip lies at the level of T9. IDC noted.
Cardiac silhouette is enlarged. No drainable pleural fluid collection. No focal collapse or consolidation. No pulmonary plethora.
Distended abdomen with central crowding of the bowel loops. No dilated bowel loops. Generalized subcutaneous edema noted.
12 rib pairs. No segmental vertebral anomaly.
Case Discussion
This baby was delivered pre-term due to hydrops fetalis. Typically seen on antenatal ultrasound but this case demonstrates both ascites (also confirmed on ultrasound) and subcutaneous edema.
