Age: 45
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is mild solid periosteal reaction along the diaphyses of the tibia and femur bilaterally.

x-ray

There is a pleural effusion on the right and an area of atelectasis in the right mid to lower lung zone which is secondary to a perihilar intrapulmonary mass which silhouettes the right heart border.

A linear area of plate-like atelectasis is noted in the medial aspect of the left lower lobe.

This case is a typical example of hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (HOA) in a patient with lung cancer.
