Presentation

Left abdominal pain a week after left ovariectomy.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

CT of the abdomen and pelvis demonstrates huge cystic lesion of left posterior pararenal space which pushes left kidney and ureter anteriorly. On the excretory phase this lesion is filled by direct contrast extravasation from the ureter.

Case Discussion

History of recent gynecological surgery and typical appearance of retroperitoneal cystic lesion with direct conrast extravasation from the ureter is consistent with diagnosis of iatrogenic urinoma.

One of rare complication of gynecological surgery is ureteric injury which leads to urine leakage, urinoma.
