Iliofemoral line

The first pelvis is a normal adult one. The iliofemoral line is symmetrical bilaterally.
On the second image, the iliofemoral line is asymmetrical (a consequence of left congenital hip dysplasia).
Case Discussion
The iliofemoral line is a curvilinear line, traced along the outer surface of the ilium, through the superior acetabular rim and the femoral neck. It is normally symmetrical.
Asymmetry may result from congenital dysplasia, slipped femoral capital epiphysis, dislocation, or fracture.
