Aggravating chronic heel pain.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male
  • Irregular signal and thinning of the insertional part of the Achilles tendon with adjacent edema. 
  • Fluid collection in the retrocalcaneal bursa, edematous retrocalcaneal fat pad. 
  • Haglund deformity of the calcaneus. 

Case Discussion

Chronic partial rupture of the Achilles tendon with extensive scar formation and retrocalcaneal bursitis.
