There is bulging of the inter-atrial septum into the right atrium.

Case Discussion

Interatrial septal aneurysm are localized bulges (> 15mm) of the interatrial septum. It occurs in the septum primum overlying the fossa ovalis.

This condition is associated with patent foramen ovale and increased risk of cerebral ischemia.
