Internal angular orbital dermoid cyst - fluid density

Presentation

Right-sided proptosis

Patient Data

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female

There is a well-defined, low attenuation, non enhancing mass lesion in the right angular extraconal location measuring approximately 1.4 x 2 x 1.8 cm in size. The lesion shows fluid attenuation with small fat attenuating foci. No evidence of any calcification.

Both globes appear normal with intact lens location.

Normal appearance of optic nerve and muscle cones bilaterally. There is no evidence of retrobulbar abnormality. Optic canal and bony orbits appear normal.

Orbital dermoid cyst is fat containing benign lesion that occurs at medial or lateral angle of the orbit.
