Presentation

Patient presents to the outpatient clinic with persistent right lower quadrant pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Right lower quadrant hernia, through the transversus abdominis aponeurosis, along the semilunar line between the rectus abdominis muscles are the lateral abdominal musculature, with the hernia sac containing fat with ileal loop and located below the external oblique muscle consistent with interstitial Spigelian hernia. No stranding of the herniated fat or signs of bowel obstruction.

Case Discussion

CT provides the diagnosis of Spigelian hernia, shows its content, differentiates the subtypes, and demonstrates the presence of complications.
