Abdominal distension, vomiting with the presence of a worm in the vomit.

Numerous tubular hypoechoic structures with parallel echogenic lines are noted within the prominent bowel loops representing Ascaris worms.

Case Discussion

Ascaris lumbricoides is a common parasite of the gastrointestinal tract in the world, particularly in developing countries. When they are present in large numbers, they can cause intestinal obstruction.
