Intrapelvic schwannoma

There is a huge and heterogeneous, enhancing, well circumscribed solid intrapelvic mass with cystic components originating from sacral plexus, which displaces the adjacent structures (rectum, bladder and prostate) without direct invasion.
Case Discussion
Schwannomas arising from the sacral nerve roots or branches are a rare and slow-growing tumor. Intrapelvic schwannoma accounts for 1% of cases. Although these tumors arise from peripheral nerve sheaths, they rarely elicit clinical or neurologic deficits, and thus the detection is often late. The diagnosis, in this case, was confirmed by histopathology after excisional biopsy, revealing a benign schwannoma.
