Presentation
Signs and symptoms of subacute intestinal obstruction.
Patient Data
CT scan of the abdomen performed during the oncall revealed circumferential thickening of the sigmoid colon, with some stranding in the surrounding, along with dilatation of the colon proximal to the lesion (large bowel obstruction).
Small hypodense lesion in the segment IVa of the liver.
Interpretation: Features of large bowel obstruction caused by a highly suspicious lesion in the sigmoid colon. A tiny liver lesion, too small to characterize.
Case Discussion
CT scan of the abdomen performed during the oncall revealed circumferential thickening of the sigmoid colon, which is pathologically proven invasive adenocarcinoma.
