Presentation
The patient noticed swelling in the outer quadrants of the right breast.
Patient Data
Area of parenchymal distortion localized to the upper outer quadrants of the right breast. Small amorphous calcifications and initial retraction of the retroareolar region.
Ultrasound examination confirms a nodule with spiculated, hypoechogenic margins. Integration. Elastosonography reveals elevated ratio.
The ultrasound findings are suspicious for a malignant neoplasm.
Case Discussion
Mammographic and ultrasound findings were highly suspicious of malignancy (BI-RADS 4). The patient underwent a biopsy examination that confirmed the diagnostic suspicion.
The histological examination report depicted invasive breast carcinoma of no special type, focal in situ component (<25%), absence of tumor necrosis, lymphovascular invasion, and microcalcifications present.
