Involuting fibroadenoma with popcorn calcifications

Presentation

Left breast palpable mass on physical exam.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Large well defined mass with lobulated margin and internal popcorn calcifications is noted at central portion of left breast typical for involuting fibroadenoma.

Case Discussion

Popcorn calcification in the breast is the classical description for the calcification seen in involuting fibroadenomas which, as the name suggests, has a popcorn-like appearance.
