Kienbock disease

The lunate bone is collapsed and sclerosed with gas locules inside. There is no significant rotation or abnormal distance from the scaphoid. The other carpal bones are unremarkable with no evidence of osteoarthritis. Negative ulnar variance is noted.
Case Discussion
Findings are suggestive of Kienbock disease stage IIIa. Kienbock disease is a form of osteonecrosis of the lunate bone and associated with negative ulnar variance.
