A mildly enhancing large, mixed cystic-solid mass is visible centrally in the pelvis, compressing and displacing the uterus to the left. Also note the colostomy in the right hypogastric area and the surgical staples at the upper rectum.
Krukenberg tumor of the right ovary - pathology proven.
A Krukenberg tumor refers to a metastatic ovarian malignancy whose primary site arose in the gastrointestinal tract or breast. Krukenberg tumors are often found in both ovaries. Microscopically they are characterized by the appearance of mucin-secreting signet-ring cells in the tissue of the ovary.
