- step 1: angle to the endplate of L5 and center in image
- step 2: rotate towards the side of injection to show scotty dog appearance and center in image
- step 3: aim for a small triangle below the dog's snout
- step 4: insert needle placement parallel to the central x-ray beam
- step 5: inject contrast and demonstrate it outlining the L5 nerve
