Large right basal ganglia hemorrhage

Presentation

Sudden onset headache and left sided weakness.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years

Large right parenchymal hemorrhage centered in the right lentiform nucleus. Small amount of surrounding edema. Partial effacement of the right lateral ventricle. 

Case Discussion

This patient had a history of hypertension. At the scene the initial systolic blood pressure was 200 mmHg. CTA was performed and no underlying vascular malformation or spot sign was seen.
