Left atrial enlargement

60 years old female who presented with epigastric pain. Abdominal examination showed pulsating epigastric mass, to rule out aortic aneurysm.

Case Discussion

Left atrial enlargement may result from a number of conditions, either congenital or acquired. It has a number of characteristic findings on a frontal chest radiograph. CT or MRI may be also be used for diagnosis.
