Knee swelling

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Female
mri

There is a large knee joint effusion with extensive synovial proliferation throughout the knee joint, most pronounced within the suprapatellar bursa. 

Many of the synovial fronds demonstrate T1 hyperintensity which suppresses on fat-saturation sequence.  Features are consistent with lipoma arborescens.

Cartilaginous and meniscal degenerative changes are also present.
