Presentation

Recent onset of severe back pain with associated sciatica in the last 1 to 2 weeks. Left leg feels numb. GP suspects borderline cauda equina.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
mri

Thin lipoma of the filum terminale - this is an incidental finding.

The L2/L3 and L3/L4 discs are dehydrated, however no disc prolapse. No nerve root or cauda equina compression.

Normal vertebral bodies. Normal bone marrow signal.
