Case Discussion

This is a complex lesion in the left breast of a young female patient. In no fashion whatsoever is this lesion simple or amenable to follow up. The core biopsy confirms an IDC of the left breast.

The teaching point here is if the lesion is not simple, sampling is always mandatory. There is no place for observing these lesions.

Make sure you are comfortable with the Stavros criteria of simple breast cysts. Apply them in every day practice.
