Malignant pericardial effusion

Presentation

Shortness of breath in a patient with ovarian cancer.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Small to moderate pericardial effusion with multiple pericardial soft tissue implants, lung nodules and small pleural effusions.

Case Discussion

Although less commonly recognized than pleural metastases, pericardial metastases have similar findings, with an effusion and in some cases, soft tissue pericardial implants.
