Nasogastric feeding tube insertion. Check position.
Patient Data
Port-a-catheter. Left internal jugular line.
The tip of the nasogastric tube passes down the right main bronchus with the tip in the distal right lower lobe.
Bilateral interstitial change in both lungs.
Port-a-catheter. Left internal jugular line.
The nasogastric tube has been repositioned and now is suitably sited with the tip in the stomach.
Bilateral interstitial change in both lungs.
Case Discussion
The initial nasogastric tube position was deep in the right lung, which was then reinserted and correctly positioned with the tip in the stomach.
The lung changes are due to cystic fibrosis.
