McCune-Albright syndrome - fibrous dysplasia

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Known facial disorder. Pre-operative planning.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

There is extensive bony expansion with areas of heterogeneous bone density ranging from sclerotic to lucent. The majority of affected bones demonstrate a ground-glass appearance.

Nuclear medicine

Extensive craniofacial isotope uptake as well as involvement of a single right sided rib is demonstrated.

Case Discussion

 

Overall appearances are consistent with craniofacial fibrous dysplasia. Presence of rib involvement and acromegaly is consistent with the patient's known McCune-Albright syndrome.
