Meningioma - parafalcine

Incidental finding in a middle aged adult.

Parietal mass demonstrating textbook imaging characteristics of a parafalcine meningioma:

  • isointense to grey matter on both T1 and T2 weighted images
  • bright homogenous contrast enhancement
  • restricted diffusion
  • CSF cleft sign (on T2 weighted images)

Case Discussion

Although histology is not available in this case, it is statistically extremely likely (99%+) that this represents a meningioma. There are no unusual features to suggest an uncommon histological variant or an alternative diagnosis.
