MRI demonstrates, in addition to occipital gliosis, marked atrophy and increased signal of the left hippocampus, in keeping with secondary mesial temporal sclerosis.

Case Discussion

This patient had a previous left occipital abscess with resulting gliosis. He subsequently developed occipital seizures (confirmed on EEG).
