Middle lobe collapse from foreign body inhalation

Presentation

Attended A&E department one day after choking on peanut. Her grandfather had performed the Heimlich manoeuver. Mum was concerned by mild wheeze.

Age: 4 years
Gender: Female

Right middle lobe collapse. Left lung and pleural space are clear. 

Case Discussion

The patient's oxygen saturation was 94% on room air. Widespread bilateral wheeze heard bilaterally, more marked on the right. CXR showing right middle lobe collapse following foreign body inhalation (peanut).
