History of mitral stenosis and subsequent valve replacement. Chest pain.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Median sternotomy.

Metallic valve with wide diameter left of the midline with oblique angulation consistent with a mitral valve.

Lungs clear.

Case Discussion

The leaflets of the metallic mitral valve prosthesis can be identified as being 'open' at the time of the image acquisition.
