Atrophic left kidney; it measures about 4 X 2 cm in its main orthogonal dimensions. It shows multiple, non-communicating cysts with no appreciated renal parenchyma.
Compensatory hypertrophy of the right kidney is seen. Mild dilatation of the right pelvicalyceal system and ureter; likely due to diuresis by furosemide injection, however no significant hydroureteronephrosis is seen.
Case Discussion
Left multicystic dysplastic kidney (MCDK) with compensatory hypertrophy of the right kidney.
