Two hypervascular masses are identified, a lesion on the right extends from base of the skull to the level of the carotid bifurcation. It is in keeping with a glomus paraganglioma.

The left-sided vascular mass extends from the level of the thyroid cartilage to the superior mediastinum and is also a glomus paraganglioma.

Case Discussion

Paragangliomas of the head and neck are rare tumors with a 3:1 female predominance, with two-thirds of cases being diagnosed between the ages of 40 and 60. Approximately 25% are multicentric, and these tend to be familial.

This case was confirmed histologically. ​
