mri

Several subcortical white matter non-confluent lesions are visible in T2/FLAIR.  On the sagittal plane, several perpendicular lesions in the corpus callosum can be observed, this is consistent with the typical  "Dawson´s fingers" appearance. Posterior fossa lesions were also noted. None of these lesions enhance with gadolinium.

In addition, a few mildy dilated Virchow-Robin spaces in basal ganglia areas can be observed at T2 sequence

Case Discussion

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic demyelinating disease relatively common, particularly in young middle aged women. Lesions are characteristically disseminated in time and in space.

In this case, the patient remains stable, with no dissemination over time demonstrated on this single scan. This demonstrates the possibility of disease stability in some patients.
