Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

A high T2, low T1, enhancing mass is located below the tip of the conus at the level of T3 and compresses surrounding nerve roots. 

Histology

MICROSCOPIC FEATURES: The tumor has a predominantly papillary architecture with cuboidal or columnar cells arranged around cores of basophilic myxoid material. In more cellular areas the ependymal cells form perivascular pseudorosettes. Areas of hemorrhage and organizing hematoma are present. There are also areas of degeneration and necrosis, without cellular  palisading. Features of anaplasia, including hypercellularity,  microvascular proliferation and mitotic activity, are not identified.
