Neuroblastoma

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Irritability. Constipation.

Patient Data

Age: 12 months
Gender: Female
x-ray

Large lower midline and left flank soft tissue mass in the pelvis and abdomen displacing bowel superiorly and laterally. Well formed feces within the colon but no evidence of obstruction. No free gas. Lung bases are clear. No bony abnormality noted.

There is large, lobulated, heterogeneous, mixed density, retroperitoneal mass. It demonstrates heterogeneous enhancement and patchy calcification. The mass exerts evident mass effect on the adjacent structures and displaces vessels. Liver, adrenal glands, and kidneys are normal.

The mass identified on previous CT and US demonstrate extensive activity.
