Presentation

Headache, dizziness and lack of memory. The patient had no idea where she has been for the last 2 days. Changes in personality according to family members were also reported.

Multiple cystic lesions, some of them with scolex inside and edema are seen bilaterally. Just a few of them show calcifications. All of them are in the wide spectrum of neurocysticercosis in different stages of the disease.

Case Discussion

Neurocysticercosis is caused by CNS infection with the pork tapeworm Taenia solium. Four main stages of the presentation can be recognized on imaging, this case shows mostly the vesicular stage.
