Two selected T2 images demonstrate brainstem and basal ganglia T2 hyperintensities most likely representing NF1-related focal areas of signal intensity (FASI).
Case Discussion
This patient is known to have NF1, and demonstrates characteristic brainstem and basal ganglia T2 hyperintensities.
When prominent in the brainstem then a brainstem glioma needs to be considered.
