Presentation
Recurrent vaginal bleeding in a patient with a history of miscarriage and curettage 3 months ago.
Patient Data
Ill-defined soft tissue mass distending the uterine cavity with indistinct interface with the myometrium, eliciting an iso-to high signal on T1, heterogeneous signal on T2 with moderate heterogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequence.
Focal thickening of the endometrium-myometrium junctional zone at posterior corporeal region (thickness = 20 mm), seen as an ill-defined area of intermediate signal on T1 and low signal on T2 in keeping with focal adenomyosis.
Conclusion (histopathological report):
histopathological aspect of a non-invasive hydatiform mole with a focal adenmyosis
Case Discussion
MRI features of a heterogeneously enhancing mass distending the uterine cavity with indistinct interface with the myometrium suggestive of a gestational trophoblastic disease.
The patient went to have a total hysterectomy with a histopathological exam that confirm the diagnosis of a non-invasive hydatiform mole.
