Normal knee fat pads : 

  • Yellow = Hoffa's fat pad
  • Blue = posterior suprapatellar fat pad
  • Red = anterior suprapatellar fat pad

Case Discussion

There are three fat pads in anterior knee compartment:

  • yellow = infrapatellar fat pad (of Hoffa)
  • blue = posterior suprapatellar (prefemoral or supratrochlear) fat pad
  • red = anterior suprapatellar (quadriceps) fat pad
