Normal marrow conversion (diagram)

Case contributed by Dr Matt Skalski

The normal progression of marrow conversion is depicted in this diagram.

Case Discussion

Marrow conversion throughout development occurs in a predictable pattern and should not be confused with pathology. This usually occurs in a bilaterally symmetric fashion, and occurs earlier more distally and progresses proximally according to the general principles depicted in the diagram.
