Esophageal carcinoma with hepatic metastases

Presentation

Dysphagia, vomiting and weight loss.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Marked circumferential irregular mural thickening of the distal esophagus and gastroesophageal junction with irregular necrotic lining mucosa, luminal narrowing and subsequent proximal esophageal dilatation. Haziness of the periesophageal fat planes and multiple peri-esophageal lymph nodes are as well noted.

Normal size of the liver with multiple hypodense hepatic focal lesions are seen in both lobes that show heterogeneous and marginal enhancement in the arterial phase followed by washout in the subsequent phases, largest of which is in segment II measuring 6 X 4.5 cm. No biliary dilatation.
