Orbital metastases: breast cancer

Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis almost certain

CT through the orbits of an adult woman demonstrates bilateral enhancing tissue replacing the retro-orbital fat more marked on the left. There is prominent enophthalmos particularly on the left.

Case Discussion

These features are characteristic of breast carcinoma orbital metastases, which is consistent with the patients history of advanced disseminated breast malignancy.
