Smooth, well-corticated osseous density adjacent to the olecranon process at the insertion of the triceps tendon. The olecranon process is intact with no evidence of a donor site.
Case Discussion
This accessory ossicle is considered a rare variant sesamoid within the distal triceps brachii tendon. Differential considerations could include non-union of an old olecranon fracture, un-united secondary growth center of the olecranon and hydroxyapatite deposition within the triceps tendon
