A cortical based intramedullary lesion at the proximal diaphysis of the right femur. It shows lucent core with smooth sclerotic margin and mild smooth scalloped underlying cortical endosteum.
Case Discussion
The lesions is somewhat atypical. The differential includes fibrous dysplasia and ossifying fibroma/fibroxanthoma of bone.
Proximal femur fibroxanthoma is uncommon. Fibrous dysplasia can and does often look similar although the sclerotic border is less typical.
