Known breast cancer patient with back pain was referred for bone scintigraphy and thoracolumbar spine CT.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Bone scan

Nuclear medicine

Bone scintigram 2.5 h after iv injection of 500 MBq 99mTc-DPD.

Four representative transverse CT sections of the lower thoracic spine (bone window).

Case Discussion

Multiple foci of enhanced osteblastic activity were detected corresponding to hyper-attenuating metastases on CT.
