Osteochondritis dissecans

Presentation

Complaining of pain and clicking in right knee.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male
mri

There is linear hypointense signal at lateral aspect of medial femoral condyle, may represents osteochondral defect. Adjacent osteochondral fragment measuring approx. 1.6 x 0.4 cm size is seen at lateral aspect of medial femoral condyle, which appear continues with the donor site.

 Subtle marrow edema is in the adjacent lateral femoral condyle. Small fluid signal cystic area is also seen in the native lateral femoral condyle, may represent small cysts.    

Case Discussion

These findings most likely represent osteochondritis dissecans. The differential diagnosis is an osteochondral injury.
